SMU Student Card & Certification Letters

1. I lost my SMU student card. What should I do?

To prevent unauthorized use of your lost card, please immediately report the loss to the Office of Facilities Management (email: fm@smu.edu.sg) and the SMU Library (email: library@smu.edu.sg). Please note that you are liable and accountable for any misuse of your card prior to you informing us of your lost card.  To apply for a new card, refer to: OASIS > Finance & Admin > Student Cards & Passes > SMU Student Card Replacement. Please note that this fee is non-refundable. 

Note: The Fee is non-refundable, therefore you are advised to wait for at least one week for the return of your loss card, If your card is found, you need to surrender the found card and use the new requested card.

 

2. My card is damaged. What should I do?

Download the Card Replacement form through OASIS > Finance & Admin > Student Cards & Passes > SMU Student Card Replacement. Submit the duly completed Card Replacement form, together with the payment receipt to Office of Registrar.

3. Where can I find the Card Replacement Form?

The form can be downloaded through OASIS > Finance & Admin > Student Cards & Passes > SMU Student Card Replacement.

4. How long will the new card take to be processed?

It will take three working days, from the date the form is submitted to the Office of Registrar.

5. How do I enter the premises with no card?

You have to make a daily exchange pass with your IC/student pass to the designated school/facilities at the security post.

6. My card is not spoilt but I wish to change the photograph.

For any defaced or a change of photograph, a payment of $35 will have to be made. Refer to OASIS > Finance & Admin > Student Cards & Passes > SMU Student Card Replacement.

7. Where can I make my payment? Is it refundable?

Payment can be made at AXS stations located island-wide. Duly completed form is to be submitted to Office of the Registrar, together with AXS receipt as proof of payment. Please note that this fee is non-refundable.

8. How do I determine if my card is faulty?

Bring your card to be checked by Security Command Centre (SCC), further assessment is needed by Office of Registrar.

A replacement fee will be charged if the card is found to have scratches, crack lines, bent/chipped, barcode label is fading, etc.

 

9. Where do I go to request for a certification letter?

Requests for certification letters can be made at OASIS > Finance & Admin > Certification & Personal Info> Enrolment Letter & Academic Summary.

10. I need a letter by SMU stating that I am a student in SMU. Where can I get this letter?

11. I need a letter by SMU stating internship is a requirement to complete the degree programme. Where can I get this letter?

12. I need a letter by SMU stating the schedules of academic events (exams and vacation). Where can I get this letter?

13. I am a foreigner and I lost my student pass issued by ICA. I need a letter from SMU to be brought to ICA for a new student's pass.

Requests for certification letters can be made at OASIS > Finance & Admin > Certification & Personal Info> Enrolment Letter & Academic Summary. Choose Letter Type: Enrolment Status Letter for Lost ICA Pass. Students are required to make a police report and bring it along with this letter to ICA for a student pass replacement.
