Matriculated NSMen

Previously matriculated NSMen** are officially SMU students.

However, you have to come back during the main IDs Verification period (25 July to 27 July 2017) for the purpose of submitting financial forms as well as attending the Academic Briefings and Notebook Fair.

**Refers to those who completed the registration formalities (both Part 1: Matriculate Online and Part 2: IDs Verification) on 15 Oct 2016, and 24 Feb 2017

Step 5 – Part 2: Perform IDs Verification & Card Collection

Previously matriculated NSMen are still required to come back during the main IDs Verification period for the purpose of submitting financial forms as well as attending the Academic Briefings and Notebook Fair.

Important note

  • For students who have matriculated and submitted your photo online by 7 July 2017, 5.00pm, your SMU Student Card will be ready for collection during the main IDs VERIFICATION & CARD COLLECTION session.
  • For students who have matriculated and submitted your photo online from 8 July to 18 July 2017, please attend the AD-HOC IDS VERIFICATION & CARD COLLECTION session.

IMPORTANT: Matriculated students who do not turn up for IDs Verification & SMU Card Collection exercises will have an administrative hold placed against them from 3rd week of the new term, which will result in them being barred from using standard e-services (such as register for courses/Finishing Touch workshops).

Step 7 – Register for Classes / Finishing Touch Programme
7.1 Register for Classes
 

At SMU, all undergraduate students register or enroll for classes via a bidding system called BOSS (Bidding Online System). Each term, the students are given e$ and e-pt, which they use to bid for courses and workshop. This empowers them to draw up their own timetable based on personal choices and study plan, subject to the constraints of curriculum requirements, and the supply and demand of classes.

7.2 Register for the Finishing Touch Programme
 

The mandatory Finishing Touch programme is one of the distinguishing factors in the making of an SMU graduate. Administered by the Dato’ Kho Hui Meng Career Centre, the programme prepares undergraduates throughout their four-year course of studies in career management skills and gears them towards career success.

The Finishing Touch programme consists of a series of career preparation and enrichment workshops aimed at preparing students for internships and full-time employment. As a graduation prerequisite, undergraduates are required to attend and achieve a ‘Pass’ grade for seven compulsory workshops in the first two years of their academic journey. Four optional workshops are offered in the penultimate and final years to equip undergraduates with the competencies for their full-time employment application.

After you have matriculated and activated your SMU Computer Account online, you will be able to access your SMU Email Account. Please check your SMU Email Account via http://live.smu.edu.sg on a regular basis, in order not to miss out on important information from the University.
