4. Appointments for Pre-enrolment Medical Examination

  • SMU students should make an appointment for their medical check-up via the following URL: https://theclinicgroup.com.sg/university-appointments/
  • If you do not book an appointment, the Clinic reserves the right to turn away walk-ins depending on the existing queue and appointments at The Clinic.
  • Students are expected to adhere to their appointment time. Being late for their appointment will result in longer waiting time at The Clinic.
  • Calling The Clinic to reschedule appointments is not allowed. For rescheduling of appointments, please reply the appointment confirmation email with a request to reschedule.
  • If you are feeling unwell, you are strongly advised to reschedule your appointment until after you have been treated and have recovered. You may be asked to delay your medical examination if you are unwell during your appointment.

5. Students are encouraged to make a morning or early afternoon appointment for a check-up so that a chest x-ray can be done on the same day.

6. International students who wish to complete SMU Pre-Enrolment Medical Examination + ICA Medical Examination urgently are required to go for the check-up first thing in the morning in order to receive results within 24 hours. Please note that the clinics are unable to guarantee results within 24 hours without notice. Do call The Clinic beforehand to confirm. Please also note that additional costs may be involved.

7. As only the pre-enrolment medical examination by The Clinic Group is accepted, if you have undergone a ICA Medical Examination (less than 6 months) with another medical provider overseas, you will have to bring your ICA Medical Examination report to The Clinic Group to get an endorsement from The Clinic's doctor before submitting the ICA Medical Examination report to the ICA. This is to avoid having to do your Chest X-Ray again for the SMU Pre-Enrolment Medical Examination.

You should complete the SMU Pre-Enrolment Medical Examination at The Clinic before making a trip to the ICA to complete the Student's Pass formalities.

If the doctor from The Clinic Group is unable to endorse your overseas medical report, you will be required to undergo certain medical tests as determined by The Clinic.

To prevent any issues with the endorsement of overseas medical reports, we strongly encourage all international students to do both the SMU Pre-Enrolment Medical Examination and the ICA Medical Examination in Singapore, with The Clinic Group.

8. For female students, please do your pre-enrolment medical examination at least 3 days after menstruation.

Should you need any clarification on the medical examination, please contact the Matriculation Team at matriculation@smu.edu.sg.
