Pre-Statistics

(This eLearn course has to be completed by 13 August 2026)

This course helps students learn key statistical skills, including probability, Bayes’ Theorem, hypothesis testing, and distributions such as binomial, Poisson, and normal. Students will learn how to analyse data, understand results, and use concepts like standard deviation in real-life situations. The course builds a basic foundation in statistics and helps students feel more confident in making data-driven decisions.

The programme includes weekly consultation sessions with Professor Liu Peng from 20 July – 14 August 2026 to support your learning. These consultations will be aligned with the learning materials, providing an opportunity to clarify concepts, address challenges, and reinforce key topics covered in the course. Students are required to attend at least one consultation session.

To maximize your learning experience, students are strongly encouraged to complete the course by August and take advantage of these free consultations.
