The Code of Student Conduct serves to guide students’ conduct in both the academic and non-academic aspects of their University life by providing an overview of the behaviour generally expected of them as a member of the University community. It is mandatory for every student to read and acknowledge the document. Register for Classes (BOSS) and Student Portal OASIS
At SMU, all undergraduate students register or enrol for classes via a bidding system called BOSS (Bidding Online System). Each term, the students are given e$, which they use to bid for courses. This empowers them to draw up their own timetable based on personal choices and study plan, subject to the constraints of curriculum requirements, and the supply and demand of classes.

The start date of Term 1 AY26/27 is on Monday, 17 August 2026.
You are strongly advised to log into the Student Portal OASIS (only students who have matriculated and activated SMU Computer Account can access OASIS) to:
- Access Freshmen Guide which provides information on Academic matters, Administrative matters, and Financial matters as well as details of the resources and services available for SMU students.
- Access school-specific information shared during Academic Briefings via OASIS > Academic > Resources
- Utilise the SMU Student Chatbot if you have any questions
