eLearn Units - Internship and Community Service (Mandatory) ✅

✅ Pre-requisite Checklist

  • Matriculate Online

Login to eLearn Portal from 3 June 2025 onwards to complete eleven mandatory online units. These units must be completed before you are able to embark on your Internship (complete RPU and IRMs) and Community Service (complete RPU and CSUs) graduation requirements.

If you have just completed the online matriculation, please wait at least 1 working day before you proceed to the online units on eLearn. If you have problems accessing eLearn, please email elearn@smu.edu.sg for assistance.

The Code of Student Conduct serves to guide students’ conduct in both the academic and non-academic aspects of their University life by providing an overview of the behaviour generally expected of them as a member of the University community. It is mandatory for every student to read and acknowledge the document. For more information about disciplinary procedures, you may refer to the student portal OASIS, Student Disciplinary Code and Procedure.

The Student Success Centre (SSC) has designed a 4-day programme, which takes place on 30 June – 1 July 2025 and 3 – 4 July 2025, to provide you with the support and resources you need to make a smooth academic transition to SMU.

  • Communicate effectively and understand your personal communication style.
  • Navigate SMU’s learning platforms with ease.
  • Hone your research skills and complete LIB001 Library Research Skills ahead of schedule.
  • Interact with alumni and seniors who have gone through the same journey.
  • Provide you access to a peer support network.

Get READy, Write Now! (2 days)

To succeed in your first year, you will need to be able to read critically and write effectively. This is especially true in your Core Curriculum modules such as Writing and Reasoning, and Big Questions. Join us for this workshop and learn how to:

To succeed in your first year, you will need to be able to read critically and write effectively. This is especially true in your Core Curriculum modules such as Writing and Reasoning, and Big Questions. Join us for this workshop to improve these skills and gain a head start on your learning. The two runs of this workshop have limited spaces, and small class sizes (15 per class), so please sign up early if you are interested.

Register for Classes - Bidding Online System (BOSS)

At SMU, all undergraduate students register or enrol for classes via a bidding system called BOSS (Bidding Online System). Each term, the students are given e$, which they use to bid for courses. This empowers them to draw up their own timetable based on personal choices and study plan, subject to the constraints of curriculum requirements, and the supply and demand of classes.

Prior to Start of Term

Verification of Academic Documents (Compulsory)

The verification of academic documents by Office of Admissions and Financial Assistance will take place during August or September 2025.

Information on this verification will be emailed to you via your school email account. This verification is compulsory. Students who fail to verify their academic documents could be barred from taking exams.

The original academic documents must be presented for verification. Hence, please ensure that you bring along these documents with you to Singapore.

Student Portal OASIS
Student Portal OASIS (On-Line Access to Student Information System)

 

The start date of Term 1 AY25/26 is on Monday, 18 August 2025.

You are strongly advised to log into the Student Portal OASIS (only students who have matriculated and activated SMU Computer Account can access OASIS) to:

  • Access Freshmen Guide which provides information on Academic matters, Administrative matters, and Financial matters as well as details of the resources and services available for SMU students. 
  • Access school-specific information shared during Academic Briefings via OASIS > Academic > Resources
  • Utilise the SMU Student Chatbot if you have any questions

Throughout your study life at SMU, you are encouraged to log into OASIS regularly so that you do not miss out on important announcements and services.
