Payment of Fees / Payment Modes

All students' bill must be paid within Thirty (30) days from bill date. Penalties can be imposed for late payment.

You may pay your fees using any of the following payment modes available upon viewing your Statement of Account (Available by end of the 1st week of August 2023) via login to Student Portal OASIS.

You may work out your Net Fees Payable after Financial Assistance with reference to Fee Payment or the Student Financial Aid Calculator.

1. Interbank Giro

The application for payment by Interbank GIRO is secured and convenient. Students will have to get ready the following before applying for Interbank GIRO:

  1. Name of Payer’s bank
  2. Payer’s bank account number
  3. Payer’s name as reflected in their bank statement or bank book
  4. Access to a printer to print out the generated Interbank GIRO Application form

To start, log in to OASIS > Finance & Admin > Fee Matters and Financial Assistance Schemes > Account Inquiry > Maintain Bank Accounts  and follow the steps:

  1. Complete the Interbank GIRO Form online
  2. Click Submit
  3. Print GIRO Application Form (this may take a few minutes)
  4. Print the generated PDF document
  5. Payer to sign the document with signature as per bank records

You can either submit the form during the SMU Student Card Collection day or drop it into the Office of Finance drop box available at:

  1. Student Services Hub (Opposite Dental@Uni)
  2. 1st Floor, SMU Administration Building (to the left of the main entrance)

Only the ORIGINAL SIGNED COPY of the completed GIRO application forms received by 27 July 2023 would be sent to the bank for processing.  The bank’s turnaround time could take up to 60 days. Kindly make arrangements to pay by other modes for Term 1 if the application status is not changed to “Approved”. Students can check via OASIS for the Paying Bank status before GIRO deduction dates. GIRO deductions (around 1 month after term start) would only take place if there are outstanding amounts for the current term. 

For GIRO application forms received after 27 July 2023, the processing might not be in time for GIRO deduction for Term 1 fees.  Please make payments via alternative methods.

2. Online Payment

Only Debit/Credit cards issued by Visa or Mastercard will be accepted. The Debit / Credit Card is subject to the limit as granted by your bank. Please log in to OASIS > Finance & Admin > Fee Matters & Financial Assistance Schemes > Account Inquiry > Make a Payment Page to view or make payment online.

Collection venues for fees related forms

You may deposit your fee-related forms into Office of Finance drop boxes available at:

  1. Student Services Hub (Opposite Dental@Uni)
  2. 1st Floor, SMU Administration Building (to the left of the main entrance)

The drop boxes are available 24/7.

 

Payer's details

To ensure that your payments to SMU are properly identified and updated in your Statement of Accounts, you have to provide the following details to SMU whenever you make a payment to SMU : 

  1. Name of Student
  2. Campus ID Number (Printed on SMU Student Card)
  3. Tel. / Mobile No. 
  4. Payment amount 
  5. Purpose of payment
