Login to eLearn Portal from 4 June 2024 onwards to complete eleven mandatory online units. These units must be completed before you are able to embark on your Internship (complete RPU and IRMs) and Community Service (complete RPU and CSUs) graduation requirements.
If you have just completed the online matriculation, please wait at least 1 working day before you proceed to the online units on eLearn. If you have problems accessing eLearn, please email elearn@smu.edu.sg for assistance.

The Code of Student Conduct serves to guide students’ conduct in both the academic and non-academic aspects of their University life by providing an overview of the behaviour generally expected of them as a member of the University community. It is mandatory for every student to read and acknowledge the document.

Academic Briefings, First-Year Transition Programme and Optional Waiver Tests
The academic briefing serves to highlight key aspects of your programme of study. You will be briefed on the details as well as some of the courses that you could take for the coming academic year. You will also find materials that will help answer any queries that you may have pertaining to your degree programme.

The Student Success Centre (SSC) has designed a 4-day programme, which takes place on 1–2 July 2024 and 4–5 July 2024, to provide you with the support and resources you need to make a smooth academic transition to SMU.

Get READy, Write Now! (2 days)
To succeed in your first year, you will need to be able to read critically and write effectively. This is especially true in your Core Curriculum modules such as Writing and Reasoning, and Big Questions. Join us for this workshop and learn how to:
- Formulate a Clear Position
- Evaluate Secondary Sources
- Create Coherent Written Pieces
- Use Appropriate Referencing Style

Register for Classes (BOSS) and Student Portal OASIS
At SMU, all undergraduate students register or enrol for classes via a bidding system called BOSS (Bidding Online System). Each term, the students are given e$, which they use to bid for courses. This empowers them to draw up their own timetable based on personal choices and study plan, subject to the constraints of curriculum requirements, and the supply and demand of classes.

Verification of Academic Documents (Compulsory)
The verification of academic documents by Office of Admissions and Financial Assistance will take place during August or September 2023.
Information on this verification will be emailed to you via your school email account. This verification is compulsory. Students who fail to verify their academic documents could be barred from taking exams.
The original academic documents must be presented for verification. Hence, please ensure that you bring along these documents with you to Singapore.

Student Portal OASIS
The start date of Term 1 AY24/24 is on Monday, 19 August 2024.
You are strongly advised to log into the Student Portal OASIS to access the Freshmen Guide which provides information on Academic matters, Administrative matters, and Financial matters as well as details of the resources and services available for SMU students. Throughout your study life at SMU, you should also log into OASIS regularly so that you do not miss out on important announcements and services throughout your study life.
OASIS stands for On-Line Access to Student Information System and hosts various self-service services under different categories such as BOSS, Academic, Finance & Admin, Campus Life & Exchange, Careers & Community Service. Only students who have matriculated and activated SMU Computer Account can access OASIS.
